Everyday I am surrounded with women that are constantly comparing themselves to other women. I hear comments like I wish had her lower body or she doesnt have wings on her arms. We have to learn to be happy with who God made us to be.
There are several reasons why people are discontented but the main reason is because they compare themselves with other people. You may wake up early in a great mood headed for a hard workout at the gym. After you arrive, you head straight for the treadmill and start a light jog. In the corner of your eye, you spot a skinny girl (with no curves) and she is running hard and barely breathing. Your great mood just left and you immediately start beating yourself up. You starting thinking, why am I even here? or what is the point in trying, Ill never look like that!. Stop the madness! Dont compare yourself to anyone else! The good news is that we need to run our own race and quit looking at what everybody else is doing or how they look. Be free in Jesus!
One of the ways I have maintained my weight and lost the 40 pounds I gained during pregnancy is through weightwatchers.com. Weight watchers isnt a diet, it will teach you portion control and you can carry those good habits with you forever. Here are a few of my favorite weight watcher recipes:
Egg Salad
Point value: 2
½ cup finely chopped celery
¼ cup onion
¼ cup fat free mayo
2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
2 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickle
Gently stir in 4 hard cooked eggs
Makes 4 (1/3 cup serving)
Use Holsums wheat bread, which is 2 pieces for 1 point!
Fast Food idea: (my favorite)
Wendys
Point Value: 4
Side salad with no dressing
Small chili
(Pour the chili on top of the salad, you can add salsa)
